I am suprised, to say the least, that I am sitting here typing up yet another issue of Track 18. This issue is going to be a little different. Why? Simple. Today is my birthday. So, not only is this issue going to have the normal things in it, but a little history lesson. A history lesson of what you ask? Of me. What else. [[============================================================================] [[Old Works by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] My lastest demo that is ready to be released when I get the computer back is one called 'Hit The Ground'. It is one of the digitzed video animation demos that I did. It will be released when I get a packer that can handle it. :) Right now I think it's around 17 frames of animation. Should be a treat for you all. [[============================================================================] [['LeatherFace' by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] The next demo I have in mind is called 'LeatherFace'. The details of this one hasn't been worked out yet, but so far it'll be cool. It'll start off with a video digi of Leather Face from the movie 'Texas Chainsaw Massecure', will pause for a few seconds, then you'll hear a ripping chain saw and Leather Face will start bouncing his saw up and down into the air. Then there will be a scroll and most likely a song, depending on how much memory is left.. [[============================================================================] [['demonAtrixz' by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] Some of you have heard bout this already. demonAtrixz will be Ace of Spades I. I am going to bring it back shortly after I get the D back up and running. Now, you may ask yourself, Why? Simple. AOS ][[ isn't looking to healthy these days. I am going to bring back AOS I to try an spark some interest in AOS. AOS I will be like the original AOS, a fun, free for all system with no rules. That's right, NO RULES! Therefore, the full name will be: The Ace of Spades I /\ Demon /--\ Trixz / \ The Devil's Playground It's first demo will be released shortly after it goes up. Currently, it has 30 color pics for Commodore, Around 31 games (Including an online casino), 100 or so message bases, and a shitload of color! Also has a graffitte wall, unlike the crappy one CIA has, this ones lets you have upto 100 lines for your message. It also has a voting booth, and alot more that I can't remember right now. :) [[============================================================================] [[Membership by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] I am still looking for some people to join Speed Ripping International. Here's what I need: (In order of importance) 1) Song writer 2) Graphics design. (Hi-res screens, sprites, etc) 3) Ripper 4) Coder/Programmer The main ones I need are 1 and 2. For the Song Writer, I need someone who can write the music and have it in a self running IRQ. Now, a great program to use is called SoundMonitor. I can get that to anyone apon request once I get the D back. Graphics Designer, this can be from pictures to sprites to charater sets. I use Advanced OCP Art Studio myself, but I will accept Kawala formated pictures also. I can get either program apon request (ya, after I get the D back). For a ripper and coder, I can mainly handle that myself. Altho someone else to help write routines if not whole demos would be very useful. Now, for all you people that want to know how to join, it's simple: 1) Do what you good at. (Draw, music, etc) 2) Upload it to AOS or bring it down. That's it. I've relaxed the one little thing on how ya had to be able to come down, ya can live in a diff area, it don't matter. Now, for the computer I write demos on. Commodore 64. OK? Got it? Now lets see some interest in SRI! [[============================================================================] [[Time Line by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] Boy oh boy. Look at all the groups I've ben in over the years. Lets see.... I first started out in CompuPirates back in 1986. I was called The Duck back then. The only thing I did was autostart screens on BASIC program. Then I changed the group name to MicroTec. Still did the same thing. Then after awhile I changed my name to Dr. Nibble. Then I met up with The CompuKing, Ace Hackem and The Pilot. We then formed The Den of Iniquity. Our roles (for lack of a better word) were: Dr. Nibble : Cracker Ace Hackem : Bussness Manager The Pilot : Graphics Compu-King : Music Well, needless to say we were a sorry bunch to see. We didn't do much, just crack programs (OK, I cracked programs) and me and Ace Hackem did Future Writer demos. What ya want, that's all we COULD do! :) CompuKing later changed his name to The King. Why? just say 'CompuKing' fast and you'll see what I mean.. Then The Pilot changed his to The Admiral and Ace Hackem stayed Ace Hackem. When I say we were a sorry bunch, I mean it. The King couldn't rip a song from a song book and The Admiral hardly ever worked on any pictures. Well, I think he did 3-4. Altho the ones he did was very good. I went out on my own for a few months under the group name of OpCode: 65280. The only thing I did under that name was write demos. THe King changed his name to The Bum, alot better, since he never did anything but bring down Pepsi and pizza. After awhile we changed out name to The Strike Force. And The Bum dropped out. We did some cracking and demos. (OK, I did cracking and demos). Then The Admiral changed his name to Rubicon, The Bum changed his to Loki, and Ace Hackem went by Ace most of the time. Since we wern't getting much done, I droped out and formed Speed Ripping International. Ace went to Mr. Crowley, Loki went to The Axe and The Strike Force folded. Speed Ripping International was doing very well. It mainly did demos and ripping. Then The Ultimatum ][[ join Speed Ripping International and put cheat modes on games and did some routines and cracked some. So far to date, SRI is still going strong, Ace Hackem has changed his name to Coroner, and I am still Dr. Nibble. [[============================================================================] [[Greetings. Ya, greetings! by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] You may be wondering to yourself... "What the hell is he going to do?". Simple. A list of greetings! All my demos have them, so why not this! Since it for piracy and shit, why not! Greetings to: Coroner * Ultimatum ][[ * Loki * Rubicon * Scotty The Generic Cracker * Edifier * Space * Dr. Catt Mr. Bill * Commander Epsilon * Deserver * Captain Keyboard 64 Freak * Captain Warped * Fire Starter Griffin * Lone Wuf * Amiga Master Hmmm. did I forget anyone? Bet I did. Hell, I always do.. [[============================================================================] [[Submissions by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] How would you like to have something put in Track 18? If you have anything you want put in this, send it in! I'll add it with your name, completely unedited. (Well, I'll take out the parts about me. :) ) I'll take articles on the following: Piracy - Cracking - Hacking - Phreaking - Ripping - etc. Or if ya just want your greetings list in, or a description for something your working on, such as a demo, send that in also! This online magazine isn't just for Speed Ripping International! It's for everybody! [[============================================================================] [[New addition by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] As you may, or may not know, Speed Ripping International is going to make an addition to it's demo making arsenol. When I get the Commodore 128D back, I am going to purchase an audio digitizer. I already have a video digitizer, so now I can make fully digitized demos! Of course you'll know when I get it, because I'll flood UD areas everywhere with digi demos! (Ya can't have to much of a good thing!). [[============================================================================] [[Support Board by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] So far The Ace of Spades don't have very many users. How about spreading the news?!?! AOS is the official support board for Speed Ripping International! After i get the computer back I'll put every single demo online that I have ever released in the order that I made them! So spread the word about AOS! Ace of Spades 1-216-339-4592 300/1200/2400 baud 24 hours a day 7 days a week (more or less) [[============================================================================] [[New format by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] As you 80 column callers can see, Track 18 has a slightly new format. Got different borders around the article headers and the text is justified to look a little better. If you have any other suggestions on how to improve Track 18, let me know! [[============================================================================] [[Closing Comments by Dr. Nibble] [[============================================================================] Well, looks like we are at the end of another issue of Track 18. Hope ya enjoyed this one. See ya in the next issue! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- END OF FILE -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
